Gene Earl Reinhardt 74, of Crawford, went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 19, 2015. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00a.m at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1301 Hogan Lane, in Bellmead, with Rev. Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in China Spring Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Gene was born February 23, 1941 at home, near Crawford, to Otto and Hilda Reinhardt. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1959. After graduation he attended Barber College. He was a Barber at Southgate Barber Shop and University Barber Shop, for fifty-four years. The barber shop was his life’s passion. He loved his customers. Gene served many years as a member of the Beverly Hills Volunteer Fire Department. He was mayor pro tem and also a city councilman for Beverly Hills.

He was baptized March 23, 1941, and confirmed April 6, 1954 at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City, TX. He married Bobbie Williams on April 9, 2006. Gene enjoyed a life of travels with all of his family. He was an avid Cowboys fan and loved to support Baylor sports, where he and his wife Bobbie are season ticket holders.

Gene cherished his friendship with neighbor George W. Bush. Gene was most delighted when he and Bobbie were invited to attend the Presidential Inauguration in 2005. Gene was especially proud of his three children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was very involved with their sports and was a coach for his son and daughters’ little league teams for Southern Little League. He loved to go fishing, hunting, camping and playing golf. He enjoyed many hunting trips with his son and his brothers-in-law.

He was a wonderful father and pepaw and he was a hero to his children. He was always available to his extended family including attended his step-grandchildren’s sporting events. He was the one everyone went to for everything. He was his mother’s baby boy and she loved him dearly. He never met a stranger.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Hilda Reinhardt; his step-son, Darren Williams; sister-in-law, AnnaBelle Carpenter; and step son-in-law, Ron Bracciale.

Those left to cherish Gene’s memory include his devoted loving wife and best friend, Bobbie W. Reinhardt, of Crawford; daughter, Sheryl Newman and husband, Randy, of China Spring; daughter, Diana Moore and husband, Kerry of Plano; son, Gary Reinhardt and wife Loretta of McKinney; step-daughter, Deanna Bracciale of Hewitt; step-son, Dwayne Williams of Valley Mills; sister, Faynette Schulze and husband Leroy of Belton; twin sister, Geneva Bolen and husband Ken of China Spring; sister, Joyce Nawara and husband Bobby of Bruceville; sister-in-law, Barbara Day and husband Doug of Kopperl; sisters-in-law, Donna Conrad and Dianne Stimson, both of Crawford; eight grandchildren, Brandi Reeves and husband, Chris, Brian Newman, Kristen Davis and husband, Derek, Ashley and Jonathan Moore, Lauren, Molly, and Kori Reinhardt; three step-grandchildren, Brittani Hanna, Brooke and Ciara Williams; four step-great-grandchildren, Justin Getman, Jax and Jorden Hanna, and Caleb Mees. Gene is also survived by numerous relatives, friends, and loyal customers.

Pallbearers will be Keith Long, Joe Bruce, Richard Vela, Earl Manning, Jerry Gauer, and Clarence Englebrecht.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Reinhardt, Dwayne Williams, Randy Newman, Brian Newman, Kerry Moore, Jonathan Moore, Leroy Schulze, Kenneth Bolen, Bobby Nawara, Steve Schulze, Bruce Schulze, Randy Bolen, Mark Nawara, his golfing buddies, Rocket Cafe Breakfast Gang, and his loyal customers.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Bellmead, St. Paul Lutheran The Grove, or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

A very special thank you goes out to Providence Hospice for their excellent loving care of Gene, especially to Karen Fisher, Kristen Thomas, and Ronnie McKnight, he loved them all.
