Obituary for Christine Narovec Stevens

Christine Narovec Stevens, 63, loving wife, committed mother, and dear friend went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Waco. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18th located at Highland Baptist Church in the Chapel at 11:00 am followed by a meal and time of fellowship. A private burial service is planned.

Chris was born March 25, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas to Bill and Eunice Mikulik. At a very early age, she and her sister Teresa were lovingly adopted by her uncle and aunt, Henry and Edith Narovec of Waco, Texas. She grew up in Waco and attended Reicher High School, and was a graduate of Richfield High School. Chris married Don Stevens on April 8, 1969. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.

Chris truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Her passions were Jesus, who was the first love of her life, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love for gardening, animals, and managing her own business, “Pets at Heart.” Chris has always had a servant’s heart and selflessly put others before herself. Chris lived a Christ-like life by caring and investing in others no matter their place in life.

Chris is survived by her beloved husband, Don Stevens and their three children, Julie and Scott Staab and their son Vic, of Austin, Mason and Anna Stevens, and their son, Cooper and son-on-the-way, of Austin, and Cal and Lindsey Stevens, and their daughter Lilly of Waco, along with her niece, Amber Norwood and Sean Egan, of Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Bolton of England, and her brother, Andy and April Montgomery of Virginia.

The family would like to thank Scott and White Hospice, the caring staff of Baylor Scott and White Cancer Center, and the excellent and compassionate care the nurses and aides provided at Scott and White Hillcrest on floor 4 North.
