Obituary for Nettie Ray Moore

Nettie Ray Robertson Moore. Nettie Ray Moore, of Waco, died January 2, 2016 in Merdian, Texas at the age of 94. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm. Wednesday, January 6 at Oakcrest Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. A family burial will be held at Mart Cemetery.
Ray was born December 12, 1921 in Ben Hur, Texas to Ila Mae Holder Robertson and Emory Robertson. She attended school in Ben Hur and married Edgar Eugene Moore on November 28, 1942.
She worked for Oliver Goldsmith in Waco until her retirement. She also worked at Waco Appliance and Goldestein Migel Department Store during her earlier years.
She was a member of Lakewood Christian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Central Texas Doll Club, Central Texas Genealogy Society, and the Red Hat Club which spun off into the Happy Hatters.
Survivors include daughter, Tena Ward and husband, Ronald; son, Emory Moore and wife, Carmilla; grandchildren, Byron Ward and wife, Nancy; Marnie Ward Mallen and husband, Kevin; Roxanne Moore; great grandchildren, Corynn and Andy Ward, Fiona and Chloe Mallen.
Her best friends were Sweetie and Winnie, 2 little dogs who never left her side.
The family would like to express gratitude to all of her care givers.
