Obituary for Eugene "Pete" Jones

Pete Jones, 85, of Hewitt entered Heaven on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He is now walking the streets of gold.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday March 23, 2016 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with his service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Pete was born in Chillicothe, Texas. He enjoyed a long wonderful career in aviation for 52 years. He held the oldest active dispatch license in the country at the time of his retirement. Pete retired from American Airlines March 31, 2005.

During the journey of Pete's life he enjoyed fishing, airplanes, baseball, racing and most importantly his wife and kids.

Pete married Donna Gittings, his soulmate, March 23, 2002 in a beautiful ceremony at his beloved Patton Baptist Church. They enjoyed 14 years of a wonderful marriage.

Pete was a amazing leader, he always led by example of faith, courage and character.

Survivors include his wife Donna, daughter Kim Shane, son Terry Jones and his puppies Donya and Sandy.
Grandchildren Michael(Bubba) Shane, Meagan Rivera, Katie Schwarz and Macie Jones and his 3 beloved great grandchildren that he enjoyed so much.
